Welcome to Horsham Little Athletics Centre

On behalf of the Committee of the Horsham Little Athletics Centre, we welcome you to the 20/21 Competition Season. As a Centre, we are passionate about the promotion of healthy living and developing positive attitudes through athletics participation.
It’s great to have new members. The Centre aims to provide an environment that is family friendly, with an emphasis on having fun, participation and achievement. You don’t have be the fastest runner or highest jumper, just try your best week to week. We have some coaches who have great tips to help you develop technique in the variety of athletic disciplines. It’s amazing how performances improve throughout the season.

Membership of the Horsham Little Athletics Centre provides pathways for participation at both Regional and State Competition Events through our affiliation with Little Athletics Victoria. We love to see athletes competing in relays, multi-event and track field championships are they’re a great opportunity for Horsham to be a team.

We encourage new members, their parents and careers, to be actively involved in all aspects of the Centre’s Competition night. It does not take too long to be able to pick up how our competition nights run. It soon becomes evident how important your assistance in results recording, measuring, setting up and packing up is, in conducting a timely Competition event night.

For returning members, we’re pleased to have you back. Another great season awaits. You know the ropes, so please look to help out where you can. Every athlete needs a uniform. Enquiries to purchase these should be made through our Uniform Officer.

For all members, please note that this website will be a portal of information on both our Centre and upcoming events. Please refer to this for ongoing information on our Centre. We have a Facebook page so we can get information out in a timely way. Be sure to join the group and check our page regularly.

As a Committee we will strive to promote the Centre and its activities the best we can. If there are any concerns or issues that require attention, we welcome any of our members to discuss this with any one of our Committee members where it can be formally or informally addressed. We trust that our volunteer time is matched with that of the parents and carers of our members. It’s simply vital for the ongoing success of our centre.

A successful season is not just measured by medals. It’s the smiles on faces as athletes achieve a personal best, cheer and clap for others as they run by, or shake hands at the end of a race.  Oh, and one more thing. Safety is paramount. Be careful with equipment and let one of our Committee members know if you see anything that looks unsafe. Slip, Slop, Slap, Slide and Sip your way to a safe and enjoyable season.
